Here in Québec Denys Arcand is well known and well loved by the older generation, I'm an X generation myself. He doesn't make a lot of movies but they are always cultural event. Thanks for the review, haven't seen it yet myself.
Arcand's films have changed my whole life. Sarcastic without being nasty, fearlessly addressing the universality and integrity of an honest observer, he is unique in the film world. How come you didnt mention Jesus of Montreal? All his films are supremely great but for me this is one of a handful of truly cosmic proportions. I've only seen it four times! It is a metaphor for many of today's social and moral dilemmas, expressed through the world of several different people in quite different realms: a priest, a film director, a fashion model, an X rated video actor and a spiritual wanderer who returns home later in life.
Sounds like a great movie. Where did you watch it? I don’t see it in theaters or streaming but maybe I missed it somewhere.
Wondering this as well.

This sounds like an excellent movie -- reading some whiny woke nonsense complaining about it only confirmed that assessment:
